Why you can’t claim right away after a result is out

A published result doesn’t mean you can claim immediately. Many events first enter a dispute window, giving everyone time to challenge the result.

How an event usually goes

1. Trading stops
2. The platform publishes the result
3. If this event has a dispute window, it enters the dispute window
4. Once the dispute window ends (or no dispute is needed), you can claim

The difference between claim and refund

• Result is out: you care about who won, whether you got it right, and when you can claim.
• Cancelled: you care about why it was cancelled and when the refund comes.

When you run into a dispute-related issue

State these three things clearly first:

• Whether what you see now is “trading stopped,” “result published,” or “in dispute”
• Whether you’re waiting on a claim or a refund
• Whether the result was judged wrong, or the page status is just displaying incorrectly
